about Peter Ware, owner
Peter Ware is a South Florida Personal Fitness Trainer and Fort Lauderdale Personal Trainer who specializes in functional and strength training as well as sports rehabilitation.
Peter is NSCA and IFPA certified and certified as a Level 2 Advanced Kettlebell instructor. The NSCA, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is the leading certification in the industry today. The NSCA prescribes a rigorous course of instruction, and certification requires that the trainer pass a comprehensive test of practical and theoretical knowledge to ensure that he or she is well-prepared to train people safely and effectively. The IFPA, the International Fitness Professionals Association, provides a basic overall preparatory course to provide entry into the fitness industry and was the first accreditation he received.
Peter began his journey into fitness training when, as a student, he started to work part time at a facility near Baltimore MD, called Fitnology. Fitnology was a pioneer in functional training, which was a brand new approach to fitness. The innovation introduced by functional training was that it focuses not just on strengthening the body’s structure, as traditional training does, but it also focuses on enhancing the way the body functions in real life. It does that by incorporating a large number of multi-joint movements and stresses body control. That was quite different from the type of training Peter had encountered until then. He has since incorporated the best elements of functional training into his methodology.
After relocating to south Florida in 2003, Mr. Ware started to work as a trainer in a large public gym. He quickly realized that to maintain his integrity and to be able to train people the best way he could, he would need to have greater independence, so he struck out on his own and, over time, was able to attract a large following of clients whom he trained in a smaller, more private facility. It was also while working there that he was first able to put into practice his belief that the best workouts were those accompanied by appropriate music, and he began to engineer his own musical mixes to play during workouts.

How to Live Longer and Healthier
To improve his knowledge and his understanding of the human body, he attended courses at the International Fitness Institute under Dr. Anthony Abbott, who is one of the leading fitness experts in North America. The Fitness Institute focuses on practical, hands-on training, as well as on academic training, with the objective of preparing the individual trainer for real-world challenges. The course includes such things as anatomy, exercise foundations, functional training, and strength and conditioning.
Corporate Fitness South Florida
In early 2007, Peter signed on with the Florida Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation Center and SOMA Fitness in North Miami. At the Center, he studied under Dr. Matt Cooper, a licensed chiropractor with a sports rehab background. Dr. Cooper’s practice ranges from lower back trauma, disc issues, post-surgery hip rehab and flexibility issues to knee sprains and shoulder problems. Under his direction, Peter worked with patients to rehabilitate their bodies and learned a great deal about pre- and post- rehabilitation and the intricacies of program design. It was also with Dr. Cooper that he acquired the specialized knowledge necessary to properly stretch the muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons of the body.
Through his affiliation with SOMA, Peter received instruction from Adam Khai-Kronin on the value of kettlebells in a workout program. Although a very old instrument, the kettle bell is currently enjoying a resurgence of popularity because of its effectiveness and practicality, and Peter has incorporated it into his program. Khai-Kronin is one of the country’s leading kettlebell proponents and one of the leading instructors on their use. Among his clients are a number of celebrities. As a result of this training, Peter was certified as Level 2 advanced kettlebell instructor.
More recently, Peter has been providing individual training to high profile clients throughout the South Florida area. The new NRG Fitness Facility is a natural outgrowth of Peter’s years of experience and his focus on a more practical and holistic approach to fitness for large groups of people.
